About Liz

Liz studied with Simon Dinnigan and Mark Ashford at the Birmingham Conservatoire, graduating with Honours in 2003 having been awarded the Conservatoire Guitar Prize and the Rollason Music Award. In 2006 she was awarded a Postgraduate in Music with Commendation.

As a soloist and chamber musician Liz has performed for music societies and festivals across Europe. She has performed in duos including the Zollisi Flute & Guitar Duo and Duo Amici Musicali (Cello & Guitar Duo). Liz performs in seasons for the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and performed for the HRH the Prince of Wales in 2014. She is featured on the recording of the Music and Speeches from the 2015 RSC production The Merchant of Venice.

Liz has performed concertos with the South Birmingham Sinfonia and Central England Ensemble and recently premiered the Guitar Quintet, Towards the Monarch written by Ivor McGregor with CBSO Musicians The Leo Quartet.  This August, Liz will be performing and teaching at the West Dean International Guitar Festival.

Liz lives in Birmingham and teaches at Edgbaston High School and King Edwards VI High School for Girls. She has tutored for Bath International Guitar Festival (IGF), Warwick University and adjudicated at competitive music festivals.  She was the National Youth Guitar Ensemble Co-ordinator and chamber music tutor from 2008-2017.
